What You're Doing This Weekend – Feb. 20-22

The Shows

Forget Tradition: Check out Pilobolus at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts.  It's bizarre yet fascinating, combining a collaborative choreographic process and a unique weight-sharing dance set. Tickets are $29 to $46.

Those Green Eyes: Straight from New Haven, the five-piece rock band These Green Eyes will be busting out the Indie music at The Space in Hamden this weekend. They've been around for about four years and have some great music that you can check out for just $10 this weekend.

Back to the 70s: The Yale Repertory Theatre in New Haven is performing a show called Lydia this weekend. It's set in the 70s on the Texas/Mexico border. Sure, it's a tragedy, but it makes you think and that's a good date in our book.

The Randomness

Celebrating the Centennial:  There's a cool display going on at The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford. It's called Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. It focuses on a huge cultural movement of the early 1900s, combining art, music, dance and Russian culture.

Geeks Unite: Check out the Revenge of the Nerds at Club Azur in Bridgeport. They want you styling like the dork you outgrew after your high school graduation. They'll be dancing, which will hopefully be less awkward than the 10th grade semi-formal.

Roller Derby: The CT Roller Derby has a home bout at the CT Sports Center in Woodbridge this weekend. You can see some crazy Cops take on mad Mobsters. Tickets are $12, even less in advance.
