The Hidden Gems

Pink Party - Guys, Sin City Nightclub and Ultra Lounge in Waterbury is where you want to Saturday night. Tila Tequila, star of "A Shot at Love," will host a Pink Party. Drink specials will be running all night and prizes will be given away to the hottest ladies in pink there.

Drink Beer, Raise Money - $10 gets you in the door at the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company Friday night. They're hosting a beer tasting to raise money for the Village for Children and Families in Hartford. You can also buy pizza from Harry's for $1 a slice - and keep the pint glass you're drinking from.

The Family Fun 

Meow - They're baaack! Cats will be at the Shubert Theater in New Haven. The show will feature 20 of Andrew Lloyd Webber's timeless songs, and of course some elaborate costumes.

Family Dinner - J Restaurant/Bar in Hartford offers a special family-style menu on Sundays. $18 a person will get you two appetizers, two pastas, two entrees and dessert. For a little more cash, you can upgrade to some serious seafood.

"Everyone's a little bit racist," which is not a political message but the title of a song sung by puppets in the Tony-winning show Avenue Q. You can catch it at The Bushnell in Hartford this weekend.

Song and Dance - They say every musical has to start somewhere. Head to Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam this weekend to find that next big hit. The theater's hosting the Fourth Annual Goodspeed Festival of New Artists. Tickets are only $15 per person per show - $10 for students. They also offer a weekend package including dinner.

Fine Wines - We always get pumped for this event. The Mohegan Sun WineFest is going on all weekend. They've got hundreds of wines, beers and liquors you can sample. There are a bunch of great local restaurants offering grub, not to mention celebrity chefs waging war with one another in the middle of it all.
