What You're Doing Tonight:June 3

Let's kick off your Wednesday night with a little taste of ItalyThe Prospect Cafe in Hartford is hosting an Italian Wine Dinner.

As diners dine on food carefully paired with the perfect wine, they'll get an education from guest speaker Mike Petrizzo of Vias Imports.

There will be an appetizer of chilled gaspaccio with a Castelvero Cortese and an entree of Cornish Game Hens with a Produttori Del Barbaresco Nebbiolo Delle Langhe.  (I'll be honest with you: I enjoy a good bottle of wine, but I've never heard of either of those.  Perhaps I should make some room in my schedule.)

The dinner starts at 6:30, and it'll run you $50 per person.  Just remember, be careful.  In Vino Veritas.  (If you didn't take Latin in High School, just look it up.)

Are you suffering from a little "Idol" withdrawal (you know who you are).  We have just the cure.

Season 7 contestant Syesha Mercado is bringing her talents to Mohegan Sun tonight.

The Singer, songwriter, actress and model will perform in The Shops concourse at the casino.  The show starts at 7 p.m.

Finally, the ultimate Broadway fairy tale is playing at the Goodspeed Opera House right now in East Haddam. The show "42nd Street" tells the story of a stage-struck understudy, who becomes an overnight star.  It features such numbers like "Lullaby of Broadway,” “We’re In The Money“ and "Shuffle Off To Buffalo."

There are two shows today -- a matinee at 2:00 p.m. and an evening show at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets range from $27.50-$69.50.  If you can't make it today, "42nd Street" is playing through July 4.
