6/4: Blues, Bands and Boats

Tonight's your night to listen to blues under the stars...

For the 10th straight year, Black-Eyed Sally's is bringing their Black-Eyed and Blues Festival to Bushnell Park.

One of Hartford's up-and-coming-bands, Bronze Radio Return will headline the show that also features, “rock n’ soul” queen Christine Ohlman, blues vocalist Alexis P. Suter, Eran Troy Danner, and roots rockers The Bluelights.

Black-eyed & Blues Fest is all ages.  It's rain or shine, so bring your slickers and ponchos, but you can leave your wallet at home.  (The concert is FREE!)

The show runs from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

One of Canada's premier hip hop artists is crossing the border into Connecticut tonight.  Toronto-Native Drake, who's been mentored by Lil' Wayne, and linked to singer Rihanna, will perform at Toad's Place.

Tickets are $25, and the show starts at 8:00 p.m.

Finally, Some lucky folks (maybe you) will have a chance to sip and sail tonight along the Connecticut River.

Our Piece of the Pie, a youth development agency, is kicking off a wine tasting cruise tonight aboard the Lady Katherine's "Mystique."  People on board will get to sample a wide variety of wines, and pick the brain of local wine experts.

Individual tickets are $75.  The ship starts boarding at 5:30, and will be on the water from 6-8:30.  Last year's event raised more than $20,000 for OPP.
