The power of Oprah comes to Hartford.

Oprah Winfrey presents "The Color Purple," is playing at the Bushnell through this weekend.

The soul-stirring musical is based on the Pulitzer Prize-novel by Alice Walker and the Oscar-nominated film directed by Steven Spielberg.  The show tells the story of Celie, who triumphs over tremendous odds to find joy in life, and her true inner beauty.

Stuck in the '80s?  Here's your chance to go Back in Time.

Huey Lewis & The News is performing at the Theater at MGM Grand in Ledyard tonight.

If you've never heard of "The News" shame on you.  Go rent "Back to the Future."  The band was prominently featured with their hit "The Power of Love." (Huey even makes a cameo and steals the scene from Michael J. Fox!)

The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets will run you $35-$55.

Finally tonight, now that we've hit the summer weather (thunderstorms and all), it's time for the summer eats.

Lobster Mania is taking over Tuscany Grill in Middletown and Baci Grill in Cromwell.

Diners can enjoy a Lobsterfied menu, complete with Lobster Bisque, Lobster Pizza, Lobster Gnocchi, and the list goes on.

It's your chance to dine under the stars and enjoy some great summer seafood.  And that's all I have to say about that.
