Yo La Tengo's Coming to New Haven

Iconic Hoboken-based alt-rockers Yo La Tengo are coming to Toad's Place on September 23 and tickets for the highly-anticipated show go on sale Friday at noon. The band is currently in the midst of their Reinventing The Wheel tour, a cheeky international road trip during which the band spins a massive wheel to determine what will transpire during the first half of their show.

The spinning wheel contains nine categories with seemingly random choices like "Songs That Begin with The Letter S" and "Seinfeld," the latter of which would result in band members acting out a classic episode of the sitcom in its entirety. The most intriguing possibility for locals is that the trio will take the stage as their side project Condo F--s, a faux garage-rock outfit that guitarist Ira Kaplan "formed" in New London, Connecticut. Tickets are $20. 9:15 p.m.
