Child Drowns in Hotel Pool on Christmas Eve

Stamford Police are investigating the death of a 7-year-old Bronx boy at a hotel pool Thursday night.

The boy was found unresponsive next to the pool at the Hilton Hotel on Fairfield Avenue around 8:30 p.m., Lt. Tim Shaw said.

CPR was preformed on the boy and he was than transported to Stamford Hospital where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

The boy's family was at the pool at the time of the drowning and police plan to interview witnesses later to determine how long the child was in the pool for, police said.

No lifeguards were on duty at the time of the drowning, but the hotel did post signs warning patrons, police said.
