App Back On Track

An iPhone application that allows commuters to see transit  schedules is back on track!

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has ended its attempts to collect a licensing fee from the "app".

Apple pulled the Station-Stops app earlier this month after the MTA complained the program lacked a disclaimer showing the agency was not responsible for accuracy.

The program's creator Chris Schoenfel, 43, of Greenwich, tells the Associated Press he's happy the MTA has backed off its earlier claims that the schedules were intellectual property that entitled them royalties.

Kevin Ortiz, an MTA spokesman, said that the authority is reviewing its licensing policies for emerging mediums.
