Case of Meningitis Found at Middletown School

Woodrow Wilson Middle School Sent Letter to Parents

An 8th grade student at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Middletown has a confirmed case of non-meningococcal meningitis, school officials said on Wednesday.

The school sent a letter home to parents late last week after school leaders were informed of the illness.

School Principal, Dr. Charles Marqua, said the City Health Director and School Medical Advisor said no preventative measures need to be taken because of the case.

Parents who have any questions or concerns are asked to call a family doctor or pediatrician. They can also call the School Medical Advisor, Dr. Joseph Havlicek.
