Gas Station Clerk Abducted

Four people have been arrested.

The clerk of a Norwalk gas station was robbed and abducted on Tuesday morning and four people have been arrested.

The attendant was the only employee working at the Citgo gas station, at 211 East Ave., just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday when the robbery and abduction happened, police said.

Police told the Stamford Advocate that the man was kidnapped as he was heading to the bathroom, forced into a car and held up at gunpoint. He gave the robbers his possessions during a short drive and the group headed back to the gas station to get money from the register,

Somehow, the attendant was able to escape unharmed, police said.

They quickly arrested Darin Mann, 40, of Fairfield. He was arraigned on Wednesday and released to his mother's custody after asking to be released on a promise to appear, the Stamford Advocate reports. Mann is autistic, the newspaper reports.

Police investigated, seized evidence and made additional arrests.

Mann, Alverto Ortega Garcia, 19, of Norwalk, and Amber Greco, 18, of Norwalk, were charged with first-degree robbery, criminal attempt to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit kidnapping with a firearm and kidnapping with a firearm.

Police were also looking for Destiny Roundtree, 18, of Norwalk, and she was arrested on Wednesday night, the Advocate reports.
