Man Shot and Killed in New Haven

    At approximately 6:30 am on Saturday, New Haven police received a report of a person shot in the area of 72 Genesee Street. When they arrived on scene they found Timothy Mathis, 25, suffering from a gunshot wound.

    Mathis, a New Haven resident, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit have begun an investigation. They are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the New Haven Police Department at (203) 946-6316 or the Major Crimes Unit at (203) 946-6304.
