Middletown Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

Police track suspect to apartment in Hartford

Middletown police have arrested a bank robbery suspect. Police said that Bruce Vaughan, 47, was taken into custody on Saturday night at an apartment in Hartford.

Police said Vaughan confessed to robbing the Bank of America on Washington Street in Middletown earlier that day. 
 
Police said Vaughan walked in to the bank at 9:14 a.m.and handed a note to the teller that implied he had a gun and demanded cash. 
 
The teller handed Vaughan approximately $7,000 and he fled the scene on foot.
 
Police tracked Vaughan’s whereabouts to an apartment in Hartford with the help of a resident.
 
He was taken into custody without incident at 10 p.m.
 
Police said Vaughan has a criminal history that includes several burglary, larceny and failure to appear charges.
