Missing Mother Found

A Vernon mother who was missing since early Tuesday morning was found alive on Thursday evening in a barn on Vernon Avenue.

A search party found Marianne MacKinnon, 30, in an enclosed portion of the attic of the barn.

Vernon police said she was alert and taken to a hospital, but they would not comment further on her condition but said this does not appear to be a criminal case.

MacKinnon was last seen after leaving a local convenience store at 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

She works as an exotic dancer at Sweet Hearts Club in Vernon and her coworkers said they had not heard from her and told police they were concerned.

Her family and friends plastered the area with fliers and conducted a search of a local park on Thursday evening. Police received a call shortly after 8 p.m., saying she was found.

MacKinnon's two young children are with family.
