Racy Texts May Lead to Lawsuit

A Pomperaug high school student is preparing to sue a teacher, the region 15 school district and the towns of Southbury and Middlebury.

This lawsuit stems from a series of sexually explicit e-mails, texts and photos the female student claims to have received from a former teacher.

Police say Christopher Bantz, 41, of Plainville was charged in April with fourth-degree sexual assault,  which is a misdemeanor.

In one picture, according to the Republican American, the former teacher was wearing SpongeBob Square Pants boxer shorts.

Police also say “he rubbed up against the student's back side with his genitals in a classroom while both were fully clothed, and kissed her on the head.”

Fanol Bojka, a Waterbury lawyer who represents the alleged victim, says the student is now a high school senior.

“Right now the case is still under investigation. We're just gathering our information,” Bojka said.
