Good news and bad news for Connecticut's job market on Monday.
First the good news.
Whole Foods plans to hire 200 employees for a new store that will open in Milford on Nov. 11 on 1650 Boston Post Road in the Milford Marketplace Shopping Plaza.
Now to the bad news.
Groton-based Electric Boat plans to cut 96 carpentry jobs at the Groton shipyard.
The company expects to have less work for the employees, according to a statement. Half of the 96 carpenters were hired in the past year to meet short-term demands.
Electric Boat officials said the layoffs will take effect on Dec. 4.
