Hughley Bashes Steele For Apology

A week after stirring up the dust between Republican National Chairman Michael Steele and Rush Limbaugh, CNN talk show host D.L. Hughley bashed Steele for not sticking to his comments that Limbaugh’s radio show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”

“I think if you say something you mean, you should just stand by it,” Hughley said on his show Saturday.

“Why is the name Steele? You should call him aluminum,” Hughley added. “He folded that fast. I don't understand. Does Rush Limbaugh run the GOP? It seems like it to me.”

After commenting to Hughley, Steele apologized to Limbaugh in an interview with POLITICO.

“I went back at that tape, and I realized words that I said weren’t what I was thinking,” Steele said. "It was one of those things where I thinking I was saying one thing, and it came out differently.”

While not pleased with Steele’s apology, Hughley expressed regret for his role in launching the spat.

“I started all of this. This is like black-on-black crime,” Hughley said. “That's what it is. I want him to keep his job.”
