Scoop: Lindsay's Dad Says He's Done Talking to Press

Michael Lohan says he’s done using the media to communicate with his daughter Lindsay.

Lohan told the press, “In the past, I felt that the best way to get to her was to speak out publicly, and it was the wrong choice.”

Among the public statements Lohan says he regrets are those about Lindsay’s girlfriend, Sam Ronson. In September, Michael Lohan called Ronson a “dark, hideous and a disgusting representation of humanity,” which prompted Lindsay to take to her MySpace blog and call her dad a “coward.”

And since it was hard to look past the irony of publicly stating that you’re no longer making public statements about the family, the entire story begged for a clarification from Michael; but it appears he’s sticking to his guns for now — he didn’t respond to a comment request by press time.

Keanu Reeves’ paparazzo trial begins
Jury selection began Oct. 27 in L.A. for a trial involving Keanu Reeves, who is being sued over a March 2007 incident with paparazzo Alison Silva.

Silva says Reeves knocked him down when he pulled his Porsche out of a parking space, and is suing Reeves for damages. Reeves, who earlier this year argued that Silva’s feet “tripped over each other,” was present for jury selection.

The whole thing got us thinking though: is there ever just cause for a shutterbug to sue the celebrity they’re chasing? Vote in our poll and tell us what you think.

Hasselbeck: no more plans for the campaign trail
“View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck certainly looked comfortable while stumping for Gov. Sarah Palin Oct. 26 in Florida, but don’t expect the conservative chat host to make more appearances on the campaign trail.

A rep for Hasselbeck confirms that, contrary to rumors, she “has no plans” to return to the trail.

Hasselbeck didn’t make any public statements after her Oct. 26 speeches. Instead, she saved her take on the experience for the Hot Topics segment on the Oct. 27 episode of “The View.” Hasselbeck’s main point: that the focus on Palin’s wardrobe was sexist.

Michael Jackson comeback in the works?
British press is reporting that Michael Jackson might be working out a deal to embark on a 30-city world tour in 2009, but a source close to Jackson says that he’ll believe it when he actually sees him on stage for the first time.

“He has been lined up to do so many things — from interviews, to performances — but the man backs out at the last minute every time. He’ll literally have a reporter who’s flown across the country at his door and turn him away.”

The source summed up Jackson’s motivation to begin planning a tour simply: “He needs the money.”
