Startup Weekend Hartford starts today and the focus is designing a mobile app or building a viable business plan focused on enhancing the health care experience or streamlining a personal approach to wellness, according to a news release from the public relations agency for the Metro Hartford Alliance.
The weekend long event is designed to help those who aspire to start businesses determine if their startup ideas are viable.
The business event brings together developers, designers, marketers, product managers and others interested in startups together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups, according to the Web site.
On Friday, those who attend make a pitch and inspire others to join their team. On Saturday and Sunday, teams design and develop business plans. On Sunday, the teams present to judges, where they receive feedback and possibly prizes.
Startup weekend is being held at the Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street, in Hartford.
