New Editor for 2 CT Newspapers

Two Connecticut newspapers have a new boss. Hearst Newspapers has appointed David McCumber as editor of The Advocate of Stamford and Greenwich Time, according the Connecticut Post.

McCumber also will become editorial director of Hearst's Connecticut Newspaper Group, which includes the Connecticut Post, News-Times of Danbury and Brooks Community Newspapers.

Hearst employs about 700 people in the state.

McCumber spent nine years as managing editor of The Post-Intelligencer, also owned by Hearst. It was the first major U.S. newspaper to shift entirely to an online format because of falling advertising revenues.
