Four hours before the job fair was supposed to start at Holiday Inn Waterbury for jobs at the hotel and the adjoining Coco Key Water Resort, the line was forming.
The hotel and water park are holding a fair Thursday afternoon to hire 40-50 workers. So many people showed up that the fair started around 11:30 a.m., 30 minutes before it was scheduled to. When the fair started, there were about 150 people. By 12:30 p.m., about 300 people had congregated and more were coming.
The jobs available include housekeepers, maintenance workers, bartenders, room attendant and several birthday party hosts for the water resort.
Business, CoCo Key folks said, is making a splash.
"The reason that we are hiring is really that the water resort and hotel have been tremendously successful in the last four months," general manager Chris Costabile said.
Ever since this 50,000-square foot indoor water resort opened last year inside the hotel, business is booming.
If you are interested in working at CoCo Key, come early and bring your resume and a positive attitude.
Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus, but not necessary.
