Connecticut's COVID-19 Rate Dips Below 6 Percent

The state of Connecticut’s COVID-19 positivity rate is 5.98 percent on Tuesday, according to Gov. Ned Lamont.

It is down slightly from 6.08 percent on Monday, the day the COVID-19 vaccines started to arrive in Connecticut.

There were 1,470 new cases reported Tuesday out of 24,580 tests performed. There were 22 new deaths reported, bringing the death toll to 5,466 since the pandemic began. There was a net increase of 26 hospitalizations, bringing that total to 1,269.

The governor said there were no changes to the state's travel advisory Tuesday. There are currently 48 states and territories on the list:
