Chocolate May Help Lower BMI

UCSD researchers say eating chocolate frequently could help people stay slim

Here is some sweet news: Eating chocolate might actually help you stay slim.

According to a new study out of the University of California, San Diego, eating chocolate could actually be good for your metabolism.

Researchers at UCSD studied 1,000 adults ranging in ages from 20 to 85 and found that those who ate chocolate more frequently had a lower Body Mass Index (BMI).

The findings were the same even after factoring in diet and exercise.

But don’t reach for a handful of candy bars just yet.

UCSD researchers said stronger studies about the possible chocolate/BMI correlation are still needed, and don’t recommend overindulging in chocolate.
