Wreath Raffle to Benefit Young Leukemia Patient

Anna Sicotte has been fighting the battle of her life

Anna Sicotte is a brave little girl.  For the last six months she has been battling leukemia.  She was recently released from a Boston hospital following a bone marrow transplant.

The West River Health Care Center in Milford has a fundraiser every Christmas by raffling off wreaths that are decorated by organizations in the community.  This year, they decided to raise money for Anna's family, who has tens of thousands dollars in medical bills following numerous hospital visits.

Anna's grandmother, Bea, gets choked up when talking about Anna and also about the community's support, "it's been very helpful, we need all the help we can get." Her daughter, Kim, shares those sentiments, "it's amazing. I feel, I can't even explain how I feel. It's just a great support system to have."

Over 70 wreaths have been decorated and are being raffled off by the end of next week. Anna's grandmother decorated a very special wreath that is covered in tea cups and saucers, "Because Anna loves to have tea parties. That's supposed to be Anna's little tea party," said Sicotte.

If you'd like to enter the raffle you can drop by the West River Health Care Center in Milford on Orange Avenue.
