One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution after a fire at 151 Killingworth Road in Haddam.
The resident who was in the house was out when firefighters arrived and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Mutual aid was requested, water had to be brought in because of a lack of hydrants.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
