Police Make Arrest After 2019 Scooter Crash in Hartford That Killed 17-Year-Old

Police have arrested a suspect in a crash that killed a 17-year-old scooter driver in 2019 in Hartford.

Police said the scooter and a motorcycle collided on New Park Avenue at Merrill Street around 11:30 p.m. on August 19, 2019.

The scooter driver, identified as 17-year-old old Thalles Costa DeLima, was seriously injured in the crash, according to officers. Police said he died of his injuries.

That was the eighth traffic-related death in Hartford of the year, police said.

Police have charged a Hartford man with misconduct with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, insufficient motorcycle insurance, no motorcycle endorsement and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
