18-Year-Old Driver Seriously Hurt in Windham Crash

A Windham woman was seriously injured when she was ejected from the car in a crash on Plains Road Saturday.

Connecticut State Police said the 18-year-old woman was driving west on Plains Road around 12:45 a.m. when her car went off the road and crashed into a snow bank. The car continued moving and went up a snow embankment, came down, and crashed into a tree in the area of 338 Plains Road.

The car rolled over and the driver was ejected. She was airlifted to Hartford Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Her condition Saturday morning was not immediately clear.

The crash remains under investigation.
