2 Campers, 2 Vehicles Damaged in Fire at RV Center in South Windsor

Two campers and two vehicles are damaged after a fire at an RV center in South Windsor early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to Pete's RV Center, formerly Vans RV, on John Fitch Boulevard around 12:39 a.m.

When they arrived, firefighters were notified of a well-involved structure fire in a large shed that had extended to two campers and two vehicles.

Some of the vehicles that were involved were parked at a neighboring business, Pete's Carstar, which is close to the property line, officials say.

Several other campers were parked near the fire, but with help from fire crews from East Hartford, firefighters were able to prevent the flames from extending and limited the damage.

Nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story said four cars were damaged based on a report from firefighters. They've since updated that number to two.
