2 Charged in Attempted Jewelry Store Burglary

Police have arrested two Andover men suspected in an attempted burglary at a Manchester jewelry store early Thursday morning.

Police said Ryan Clark, 20, and Michael Fortin, 19, were seen trying to smash through the front door of Gooddale Jewelers, at 844 Main Street, just after midnight.

Police said officers saw Clark and Fortin running in the Otis Street area and chased them through several backyards.

Police took them into custody.

Both suspects were apprehended shortly thereafter and face the following charges.

Fortin was held on $100,000 surety bond and was charged with third-degree criminal attempt to commit burglary, interfering with an officer, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree criminal attempt to commit larceny.

Clark was held on $25,000 surety bond. He was charged with third-degree criminal attempt to commit burglary, interfering with an officer and sixth-degree criminal attempt to commit larceny.
