Two men are recovering after being shot on Lilac Street in New Haven late Friday night.
Police say ShotSpotter reported gunfire on Lilac Street near Newhall Street around 10:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, they say they found two men who had been shot at a home on Bassett Street. Officers say 29-year-old Jermaine Lee of New Haven was shot in the leg and 25-year-old Richard Davis of Hamden was shot in the buttocks and thigh. Experts deemed both of their wounds to be non life-threatening and they were each treated at local hospitals.
Detectives recovered a High-Point nine m.m. handgun at the scene.
Shortly after, police say gunfire was reported nearby on the 500-block of Winchester Avenue. A parked Jeep Cherokee sustained damage from gunfire.
Detectives there recovered a .38 special revolver from that scene.
According to officials, three men were seen fleeing the scene. One of them is described as a heavy-set man with glasses.
