Police are investigating after a Subway restaurant and Big Y store in Naugatuck were robbed Wednesday afternoon within 20 minutes of one another.
According to police, a suspect entered the Subway restaurant at 928 Old Highway Road around 1:10 p.m., pulled out a handgun and demanded cash.
Then, at about 1:30 p.m., officers were called to the Big Y store at 85 Bridge Street after a man stole items and pushed an employee out of the way as he was leaving, according to police.
The two robberies are being investigated separately but police said they have not ruled out the possibility that they are connected.
