Two people were transported to the hospital on Saturday morning after a boat hit a sandbar in Old Saybrook.
Officials said five people were on the boat when it hit the sandbar at the mouth of the Connecticut River near the Harbor One Marina. Two of the people on board were transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Mutual aid from Old Lyme and Middlesex, as well as DEEP responded to the scene.
