A juvenile is facing charges after engaging officers in a pursuit while in a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning, police say.
Officers say they were dispatched to Laura Lane around 1:41 a.m. for a report of several suspicious vehicles cruising on the block. When police arrived, they say a juvenile driving a Mazda SUV turned onto Charter Oak Avenue from Haines Street, while following another dark colored SUV.
When an officer in a marked patrol car turned onto Charter Oak Avenue, the juvenile hit a parked vehicle then fled and then hit another parked vehicle in the driveway of a house at 25 Wilson Street. As the vehicle continued on, the juvenile hit the house at the same address, causing extensive structural damage.
The juvenile then fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended in the driveway.
Investigators say at least two vehicles were stolen from Charter Oak Avenue including the Mazda SUV.
Two responding officers were also involved in a collision with each other while responding to the incident, but were not injured.
The juvenile is facing a list of charges including engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, evading responsibility and larceny.
