2 Charged After Middletown Stabbing

Middletown police arrested two men in connection with a stabbing on Wednesday night.

Police said they responded to a 911 call at Wharfside Commons at 8:53 p.m. on Wednesday and found several people leaving the area.

Police said they found two victims, including the person who called 911. The caller’s injury was not life-threatening and that person was brought to Middlesex Hospital. The other victim had been stabbed several times, but was conscious and alert. That person was brought to Hartford Hospital.

Police said Jacob Brown, 39, of Middletown, had been in the victim’s apartment with several family members and friends and started arguing with the victim, who told Brown to leave because he appeared drunk, police said.

A fight then started and one victim was stabbed.

The person who tried to break up the fight was also stabbed, according to police.

Brown was charged with two counts of first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment and bond was set at $250,000.

Edward Atkinson, 29, of Middletown, was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault. His bond was set at $50,000.
