Two women are facing charges after investigators reportedly found prostitution activity at a massage parlor in the Niantic section of East Lyme, police said.
Authorities launched the investigation in January. They searched the Rainforest Spa massage parlor at 301 Flanders Road on Tuesday afternoon and seized ledgers, documents, surveillance equipment and cash as evidence, police said.
Two women were arrested as part of the investigation.
Jia Shia Cao, 63, of Flanders Road in East Lyme was charged with promoting and permitting prostitution. She was held a $20,000 bond and was due in court today.
Shaoqing Liu, 51, of the same home on Flanders Road, was charged with prostitution. She was held on a $10,000 bond and was also due in court today.
