20 Teens Busted at Vacant West Haven Home

Police arrested 20 teens when they busted a party at a vacant house in West Haven on Monday night and noticed the smell of marijuana.

Police went to 89 Homeside Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Monday after receiving several calls reporting a group of teens going into a vacant house.

The officers who responded could smell marijuana and found a 19-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman and 18 16- and 17-year olds, police said in a news release. 

The two teens who were over 17 were identified as as Artay Buster, 19, of West Haven, and Candece Howard, 18, of West Haven, and police said they refused to obey officers.   

Buster was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and interfering with police. 

Howard and the 18 juveniles were charged with criminal trespass.

The juveniles were released to their parents or guardians.

Police said they cannot release any additional information be of the juveniles’ ages.

The online assessor’s database
lists the house as a 1,267 square-foot Cape home that has been owned by a bank since June 2011.
