Two Men Shot in the Back in Hartford in Separate Shootings

Police are investigating after two men were shot in the back in separate shootings in Hartford on Sunday.

In the earlier shooting, officers responded to Greenfield Street and Nelson Street around 2:45 a.m. after getting a report of a ShotSpotter activation.

Police said they found evidence of gunfire when they arrived.

While conducting a canvass, officers said they found a 26-year-old man from Avon suffering from a gunshot wound to the back on Midland Street and Main Street.

The victim told police that he was shot in the area of the ShotSpotter activation and drove off before officers arrived.

The man is currently listed in stable condition.

Hours later, officers were called to Edgewood Street around 12:45 p.m. after getting a report of shots fired and a person hit by gunfire.

Police said they later determined that the 33-year-old man from Uncasville had fled in a vehicle one block north to Albany Avenue. Officers there found the man and his passenger.

Evidence of gunfire was found on Edgewood Street, according to officers.

The man was transported to St. Francis Hospital to be treated for a single gunshot wound to the back. He is currently listed in stable condition.
