A 28-year-old man has died after a crash in Willimantic early Sunday morning.
Police said they responded to a single vehicle accident near 120 Quarry Street around 4:20 a.m.
Officers said an SUV hit a tree and the vehicle was heavily damaged.
Paramedics transported the driver, a 28-year-old man, to Windham Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Officials said the man is from Willimantic, but have not released his name. There was nobody else in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Quarry Street was closed from 4:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Willimantic Police are investigating the accident.
