Names of 1 Teen Charged in School Sex Assault Released

Three teenage boys were charged in the sex assault of a 15-year-old girl.

Hartford police have charged three teenage boys in connection with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl at Hartford Public High School on Jan. 17.

Hartford police sources said security camera footage shows three males pulling a female into the school bathroom and sexually assaulting her.

On Friday, police said they have arrest warrants for three boys, ages 16, 17 and 18, charging them with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint, and risk of injury to a minor.

They have identified the 18 year old as Dominique Weston, of Hartford.

The 16 year old has been referred to Juvenile Court, and Weston and the 17 year old will be arraigned in Hartford Superior Court with judge set bonds of $150,000.

All three turned themselves into Hartford Police at 50 Jennings Road within the last 72 hours, police said.

The assault happened on a Tuesday afternoon, sources said, and there might have been an early junior varsity basketball game at the time.

Supt. Christina Kishimoto released a short statement the day after the attack.

"School officials dealt appropriately with the situation. They immediately turned the matter over to the Hartford Police Department for an investigation and are cooperating fully," she wrote. "Although we do not want to appear insensitive, it is our primary responsibility to protect the safety and confidentiality of our students while the proper authorities sort out the facts."
