A 3-year-old boy who wandered off while hiking with his mother and siblings at Northwest Park in Windsor on Tuesday morning is safe.
Police said the mother called 911 right away and several agencies responded and spent the next 40 minutes searching the woods until they found the boy.
"As soon as she realized her child was missing, she called 911 from the trails," Windsor Police Chief Donald Melanson, said. "We were able to get out here. She pointed out where he was, so we had a good central location to start from."
He is OK and police said there is no criminal or negligence aspect to the case.
