4 Arrested After Shots Are Fired at Pedestrian: Police

Police arrested four men after investigating reports of someone shooting at a pedestrian in Hamden on Sunday night. 

Police responded to the 1700 block of Dixwell Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Sunday to investigate the report of someone shooting from inside of a moving car and determined that the shooter fired around three times at a pedestrian at Dixwell Avenue and Woodin Street, but the pedestrian was not hurt, police said. 

Soon after, police and a concerned resident found a vehicle on Dixwell Avenue with four people inside. Police arrested all four and found a BB gun, pellets and two masks inside the vehicle and one of the people had a box cutter, police said. 

Jamal Bynum, 19, of Hamden, was charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment, criminal attempt to commit reckless endangerment and weapons in a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on Tuesday. 

Carlton White, 20, of New Haven, Tymar Cooper, 21, of Hamden, and Javon Johnson, 20, of West Haven, were charged with conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment in the second degree and are due in court in Meriden on Nov 14.
