Four Massachusetts State Police Troopers were hospitalized overnight following a multi-car crash allegedly caused by a suspected drunken driver.
Authorities say the driver slammed into a police cruiser that stopped a 2011 Subaru Forester during a motor vehicle stop on Route 27 in Brockton. The incident happened just before 1 a.m., according to authorities.
The alleged drunken driver, who was later identified as 26-year-old Frandy Jose Ramirez Rodriguez of Brockton, was traveling north on Route 27 when he allegedly hit the rear of a cruiser. The impact caused the cruiser to hit a second MSP cruiser, which made that vehicle hit the Subaru.
Footage of the scene showed four vehicles, including the two cruisers, on the road. Severe damage could be seen on one cruiser and a tow truck later arrived to take both cruisers as well as one of the vehicles involved.
Four troopers, including new troopers who recently graduated from the academy, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were released later in the morning.
The driver of the Subaru was also taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for possible minor injuries.
Ramirez Rodriguez was arrested on charges that include OUI liquor, driving with a suspended license, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, failure to take care in starting, stopping or turning.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court.
