5 Displaced in Monroe Fire

A firefighter noticed the fire while returning from another call and requested assistance.

Five people were displaced after fire broke out at a single-family house on Robin Lane in Monroe on Monday morning.

Two adults and three children live in the house and the family was woken by glass breaking.

Fire officials who responded to the blaze said the fire spread quickly because of the high winds and the home appears to be a total loss.

The fire danger for Monday is high. A red flag warning is in effect for all of the state from mid-morning until 8 p.m.

Shelton fire crews provided mutual aid.

No one was injured in the fire.

It’s not clear if there were working smoke detectors in the house.
