Five elementary school students from Canton suffered minor injuries in a school bus crash in West Hartford yesterday.
Police said the crash happened at Park Road and Prospect Avenue just before 4:30 p.m.
Police said the bus driver was turning south on Prospect Avenue and tried to turn left onto Park Street when the bus hit a vehicle that was traveling north on Prospect Avenue, according to police.
The bus involved was a First Student bus carrying 12 students from the Canton school district, police said.
Five students were transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center to be evaluated for minor head and neck injuries.
