5-Year-Old Injured in Plainfield Home Invasion: Police

A 5-year-old child was injured early Saturday morning during what police are calling a home invasion and assault in Plainfield.

According to police, officers were called to an apartment at 53 North Chestnut Street in Wauregan around 2:40 a.m. Saturday on the report of a noise complaint. Police said officers arrived to address the noise complaint. They left the scene but were then called back.

Police learned that Kimberly Brown, 26, and Jonathan Daignault, 27, who were involved in the noise complaint, had forced their way into a neighboring apartment and gotten into a fight with the residents, authorities said.

Brown and Daignault were arrested at the scene. Brown was charged with home invasion, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor. Daignault was charged with home invasion and disorderly conduct.

Both were held on $20,000 bonds and are due in court Nov. 4.
