The Bereavement Care Network hosted its 6th Peace March and Rally in New Haven on Saturday to help families that have lost someone to homicide.
The march ended at Goffe Street Park.
Police Captain Anthony Duff was in attendance and was awarded for trying to intervene in a shooting last month that left a man dead. Duff was also shot several times.
"I'm glad that the community has come out not just to celebrate me, but to gather in fellowship with other families who have lost family members and loved ones, particularly to gun violence," Duff said.
Police are still looking for the person who shot Duff.
