Six people are displaced after a fire in Hamden Thursday morning, one person was transported to the hospital to be evaluated and fire officials said the Hamden fire marshal determined that the fire was intentionally set in the kitchen.
Hamden Fire Chief Gary Merwede said firefighters were dispatched at 5:36 a.m. and crews found fire on the second and third floors of a multi-family home on Helen Street.
He said they had to rip out a lot of walls to get the fire under control.
The town's building officials declared the house uninhabitable, according to the fire department.

Fire officials said a resident of the third floor was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for medical evaluation
Fire officials said the Hamden Police Department is conducting an investigation. They said this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public
