A.G. Is Looking into New Britain Costco Deal

The Office of the Attorney General is questioning the proposed deal to sell a section of New Britain's Stanley Golf Course to the developers of a proposed new Costco.

The Hartford Courant reports that the A.G.'s office wants to know if the leaders in the Hardware City are living up to the deal under which Alix Stanley granted the land in 1927.

The Costco proposal has been tabled until the A.G. George Jepsen is satisfied that the city lives up to Stanley's provisions for the use and sale of the property.
