Access Health CT to Staff Call Center on Saturdays for Families Moving Off Husky A

Access Health CT is adding Saturday hours to its call center to help people whose Transitional Medical Assistance coverage expires on July 31.

Parents and caregivers who are required to move off HUSKY A after a change in the law impacting federal poverty levels have the option to enroll in a plan offered through the exchange or onto a different Medicaid plan depending upon their eligibility.

“By opening our call center on Saturdays, during hours where historically we’ve seen higher call volume, we are hoping to make it easier for people to enroll in a new plan and avoid experiencing a gap in coverage,” AHCT CEO Jim Wadleigh said in a statement. “These customer service representatives are dedicated solely to helping our TMA customers enroll. Impacted individuals can also attend one of our enrollment fairs across the state, work with a certified broker, an enrollment specialist, or visit our website to sign up before the July 31st deadline. ”

The AHCT call center will be open on Saturdays, beginning this weekend, with 30 customer service representatives from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assist TMA customers.

Individuals who have been notified that they will lose their HUSKY A coverage should call 855-805-4325 before July 31, visit www.accesshealthct.com/husky-move or attend an upcoming enrollment fair to enroll.

Enrollment fairs will be held:

  • July 7, Hartford Public Library, 500 Main St, Hartford, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • July 13, Access Health CT New Haven Enrollment Center, 55 Church St., New Haven, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • July 14, Bridgeport Public Library, 925 Broad St., Bridgeport, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
