Police Arrest Suspect in Stafford Subway Robbery

Police have arrested the man who they say robbed a Subway restaurant at gunpoint in Stafford over the weekend.

Charles Perkins, 53, of Stafford, was arrested at his home Tuesday in connection with the robbery. He's charged with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, possession of a facsimile firearm, second-degree breach of peace and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Perkins is accused of robbing the Subway restaurant at 88 West Main Street/Route 190 in Stafford on Saturday evening.

According to police, the suspect entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.

He fled in a silver Toyota, police said. It's not clear how much money was stolen.

Perkins was held on a $200,000 bond and is due in court Wednesday.
