Middletown Police are investigating an attempted home invasion that sent one person to the hospital.
Police were called to the scene of a shooting at 28B Portland St. around 6 a.m. Saturday morning. At least one person attempted to enter a 43-year-old woman's apartment, where she, her daughter and 12-year-old grandchild were sleeping, police said.
The victim was shot in the face when she confronted the people entering the apartment, police said. She was taken to Hartford Hospital. Her condition is not known at this time. Her name is not being released.
